Ingredients needed

All you need for this sugar wax recipe is sugar, water, and cornstarch. That’s it! No lemon juice or any other acidic ingredient is required.

Start by mixing together 1/2 cup of sugar with 1/4 cup of water in a saucepan. Heat over medium-high heat until the mixture starts to boil. Add in 2 tablespoons of cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon of cold water and stir constantly until the mixture thickens (about 3 minutes). Pour into a bowl and let cool before using as your waxing solution.

Equipment required

All you need is a pot, sugar, water, and wax strips. The ratio of sugar to water is 1:1, so for every cup of sugar you’ll need one cup of water. Heat the mixture on medium heat until it reaches the soft ball stage (235-240 degrees Fahrenheit), then remove from heat and let it cool slightly. Pour the mixture into a container that’s big enough for your wax strips, then dip the strips in and wait a few seconds for them to harden.

Boil your water

Boil a pot of water on the stove. You’ll need about 2 cups of water for every 1 cup of sugar. Fill a pot with your desired amount of water and place it on the stove. Bring it to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally so that all the sugar dissolves in one spot at the bottom. Turn off the heat when you see bubbles forming at the top or if you notice that some of your sugar has not dissolved yet.

Mix your ingredients together

In a medium-sized bowl, mix together 1 cup of sugar, 1/4 cup of water, and 1/4 cup of corn syrup. Heat this mixture in the microwave for two minutes, stirring every 30 seconds. Once it’s heated, add in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and stir until combined.

Pour, pour, pour

Next, you’ll need to pour the sugar wax mixture into a pot or saucepan. The amount you’ll need will depend on how much hair you want to remove. Once the sugar wax is in the pot, turn up the heat until it reaches a boiling point. Once it boils, turn off the heat and let it cool for a few minutes.

Stir, stir, stir

Once you have your sugar and water mixture, you’ll need to stir it constantly over low heat until it thickens and becomes a light amber color. This process can take up to 45 minutes, so be patient and keep stirring! If your mixture starts to darken too quickly, turn down the heat. You don’t want it to burn.

Once it’s cooled you can use it as a hair removal product!

Sugar wax is a popular hair removal method, but it can be expensive to buy pre-made sugar wax from the store. Luckily, it’s easy to make your own Sugar Wax without Lemon Juice at home with just a few simple ingredients! And you don’t even need lemon juice – all you need is sugar, water, and vinegar.

FAQ’s

Does sugar wax need lime juice?

No, sugar wax does not need lemon juice. You can make a sugar wax without lemon juice by boiling sugar and water together, then adding in cornstarch or flour to thicken it.

Why is my sugar wax not hardening?

If your sugar wax isn’t hardening, it’s likely because the ratio of sugar to water is off. When making sugar wax, you need to use two parts sugar to one part water. You also need to make sure that the lemon juice is fresh.

Why is my sugar wax not working?

If your Sugar Wax without Lemon Juice isn’t working, it could be because you didn’t add enough lemon juice. Lemon juice is acidic and helps to break down the sugar so that it can be removed from the hair.
